Strategies for more Turbine Points

The MOST IMPORTANT tactic I developed in doing this was to not worry about leveling.... my goal was to maximize my turbine points, and leveling happened as I went along doing this. Truth be told, I ended up out-leveling most areas, but for the most part, I wouldn't move on until I had farmed all the turbine points I could in that area.

I never spent my turbine points unless something was on sale. Only buying sale items made my turbine points go way farther... I saved anywhere from 20% to (for really GOOD sales) 50%.

If a really good sale happened with a land mass I was ready for and really wanted but I didn't have enough turbine points for it, I created a toon or 2 on another server to farm points - then when I was through the beginning areas (Bree, the Shire and Ered Luin), I simply deleted these toons.

I found the best toon for simply farming Turbine Points is a Hunter.

In that vein, I tried ALL the classes. There are 7 to choose from - 9 if you count the premium classes. If I didn't like the class, I deleted the toon after I had farmed as many turbine points as I could from the first area. This gave me enough time to figure out if I actually liked the class.

I also figured I would need at least 4 toons to be able to get the whole game. Consequently, some of my first purchases using Turbine Points was more character slots (when they were on sale, of course)

I used the gold cap to my advantage and whenever I got close to 2 gold, I bought rep items from the Auction House.

I didn't want it to feel like a grind, so I would play my first toon as far as I could, making sure to farm all the turbine points as possible along the way .... until I got to a land mass (quest area) I hadn't bought. Then, if I didn't have enough turbine points to buy the next land mass, I went back and played my next toon  .... and so on, until the right sale came up. Keep in mind that I wasn't in any hurry to do this. If I had been ripping through the content, I probably would not have waited for sales to buy stuff.

One of the best pieces of advice I can give you whether you play F2p, as a Premium Member, or as a VIP,  is to join a Kinship. My kinship helped me a LOT with all kinds of things like crafting supplies, armour, jewelry, rep items and great advice. The BEST thing a kinship can give you is people to quest with and do deeds with. The game is a lot more fun when you are grouping with friends. Just be sure to be as generous with your kin-mates as they are with you. If all you do it take from your kin-mates, never helping out others when you are able, pretty soon you will end up with the reputation of a "taker" and you will be pretty much ignored.
